I'm impressed with Rainbow E2 two speed suction. Not expecting pull that much. its most powerful vacuum i have for sure. The Electroluxes came second. they pulled 76-80. This picture is with hose.

Do you by any chance know the CFM's? I thought I had read it was around 90, but I could be wrong, often am.

The real difference comes 6 months,1 year,10 years down the road when the Rainbow will still be pulling about the same as when it was new.
I have had so many machines that have wonderful suction when brand new but is a very short time they loose the air flow and you can just tell they don't have the same power to clean even with clean bins,bags and filters.I don't think as collectors we are very good judges as we KEEP our bags,filters, and bins emptied and clean. Very different from the real world of how users take care of their machines.
I am surprised that is has that much pull. I have owned my black Rainbow well over a year and have no problems and it has been used pretty hard and every day. The total dust level in the house is much better and so are my allergies.
I just love not SAVING the dirt and filth in the closet and starting with a fresh ,clean machine every time it is used. The imrovements on the new Black Rainbow make it so much quicker and easier to use and put away.
It is one example were they are making them better than they used to and still made with pride in the USA.

Wow I wondered if they beefed it up a little. Not many of the water vacs pull 80 let alone more.

CFM = Cubic feet per minute , of air that is, The more you have the better your cleaning, However Lift and CFM have a anti relationship as one goes up the other goes down, The trick is finding the sweet spot.
To give you an idea of to much lift, If you piped in a guage into your hose and then put a marble on a table, put the hose over the marble and seal it tight. Switch the machine on and the lift gauge will show maximum lift, but the marble will not move, lift the pipe slowly and the marble will race down the pipe as air rushes in and carry's it away. a vacuum cleaner is just a pump that carry's dirt by means of negative pressure in air.

Glad you posted this. I've always thought My gold 2 speed had really good airflow and I have read the water lift was around 90, but never was sure. I've used the hell out of it this past week. I think it's approaching 7 years old now. I deep cleaned top to bottom the other day and all I put in the basin was a few drops of orange oil. Once I was done, I put everything away and left. When I came back 4 hours later and walked in the house, I could still smell oranges.
Hey Joel........Be sure to clean your fridge coils. They get dirty quick no matter how clean your house is, especially if you have pets. If you want to give your rainbow a REAL DUST test, use the hose to blow out the coils.

It looks like it's almost at 90 on that gauge.
It seem I remember reading the one speeds had a little less suction than that 2 speeds. I think the one speeds were 80 water lift and the 2 speeds were 90. I am not sure about the new black Rainbow.. Hint hint: If anyone has a black rainbow and has that gauge, please post results. From what I've read it's still the same two speed motor as the Gold 2 speed and blue 2 speed, but I'm not 100 percent sure as I have never gotten a definitive answer on that. I was under the impression that the major changes on the black rainbow were cosmetic and the new cool PN and attachments with only one hose. I still want a black rainbow!! I just can't justify it because I still like my current one really well and serves me just fine.
