Just an interesting topic since there have been many members on here who have a "daily driver" vacuum cleaner and more lately from those who have bought new vacuums.. if your daily driver could do something extra what would it be?

Personally with my SEBO Felix, I wish it could have an auto cord rewind fitted. There are days when I just find lasso'ing up all 9.5 metres of the cord a bit of a faff!

Perhaps a longer cord, Panasonics 6.7m cord can't even vacuum our hallway fully even with it plugged in in the middle! So a long cord deffo, about 11m would be great.

Also a longer hose, have to carry the Panasonic up the stairs to clean them to the top.

Nothing, because it is a Hoover Turbopower 1000 and therefor perfect in every way.

Only jesting of course.

Though in all honesty I can't think of anything that I'd want it to do other than what it already does.

How about brush controls for bare floors, Jamie? So you could switch the brushroll off to go from carpet to bare floors?

With the Sebo x1.1, the only thing I would like is a longer stretch hose that would mean I could clean a full flight of stairs without the extension hose.

Hi Ryan,

Funny you should say that because I was thinking this morning how much I really like the Nimble I got Saturday but I just wish it had cord rewind, being used to cylinders I'm used to auto cord rewind, winding up all the cable by hand is annoying! When the novelty has worn off and I go back to the DC38 I wish that had remote control on the handle and a longer cord, its so short but I suppose thats because it's so small?

In general for Meile canisters-longer cords and hoses-and a REAL dust brush instead of the "doll dust brush" as another member put it.
For Kirby-in the canister mode-some sort of "scrap trap" on the hose attachment so the fan can't ingest hard items like coins, nails, screws, pebbles and such.

"How about brush controls for bare floors, Jamie? So you could switch the brushroll off to go from carpet to bare floors?" That would be useless for me Chris as I would never use an upright on bare floors, it just doesn't feel right.

Benny (vintagerepairer) made a good argument for that last year.

Talking of which, has anybody seen him lately?

Good idea. Kirbys are good, but lightweight they are not.

Though in saying that, how they could reduce the weight of a metal machine without going to dreaded plastic is tricky.

Kirby could scrap the bloody techdrive for starters. They wouldn't NEED techdrive if it wasn't for the techdrive making the cleaner heavier in the first place.

I want my Dyson uprights, mainly DC07 Standard to have autosense, a little crumb sucked up and the brushes stick out and the suction increases to 500 AW, I can push any vacuum cleaner!

I want my DC07 Standard to have autosense

....why?

I never understood the praise for autosense. Seems like a pointless marketing gimmick. Why would anyone want any of their carpet less clean than other areas?

Not into hoovers much, but I think it's going to be a ho

If I could add a feature to my hoover, it'd have a built in camera and would do the work for me! lol, but I don't think that counts. Tbh, I don't know what I'd add to my Dyson, it's great!

That's what I'd like, it could happen in the not to distant future!

Chris.

I'd give my Sebo X2 a longer hose & brushroll on/off, and I'd give my Riccar 8900 a hose.
