Something I have been thinking about a lot lately if they were to release a retro convertible (original styling) how many of you would buy it? How much would you expect it to cost? ect?

i would buy it but it would have to take type a bags and pay 200 dollars for it.

I'd always prefer a direct air style (through the fan) to a "filter-first" style: Lower rpms, more air volume per time unit (higher air stream), thus more fine dust pick-up and less "screaming noise and howl"
(have you ever heard the ramp-up of a Black&Decker VS2000 canister with brushless motor? Curdles my blood...)
Although the Convertibles could use some small improvements: Better air seal to the hose-tool-setup (this horseshoe shaped adapter must be redesigned) and the same goes for the brush wear-off (some re-adjustment mechanism should be in it before you are forced to exchange the bristle stripes).
The headlight could be more effective (LED plexiglass stripe?)
And yes, there must be some CHROME to it ;-))))

Use extra soft bristle strips. This would make it the perfect vacuum cleaner for Asian and handwoven rugs. People have been misled into thinking the beater bar damages rugs, when the opposite is true. I think Hoover made a mistake when they abandoned their beater bar along with it's famous slogan "It Beats, as it Sweeps, as it Cleans"
It could be placed with rug dealers as an exclusive. Attachments? They never were Hoover's strong suit. Offer a polished chrome Dustette with a detachable nozzle and a Pixie set of tools. All it takes is for the cleaning gurus to endorse it, and people are lining up to buy one. Some of the rugs sell for more than I paid for my car, a 250.00 piece of cleaning equipment is nothing to the right customer.
And the too-early retired Connie could be brought back as well, with the original wheeled rug nozzle, stainless, or chrome with a black bumper and red flex hose. Be still my heart!

Unfortunately, as the domestic Convertible disappeared with the 1990's, so did its Made In USA origins. So, a modern version would likely be made, where else? Somewhere, not here. And, I for one am proud to own ones made in North Canton. I feel no need to have a 'modern' imported version for a high price. However, if one was made here, then I would consider it. That's how I feel...
