Sears Kenmore Very Best Canister powermate vacuum model 2997 from the Sears catalog 1978 area.

Once in a great while I see one on ebay but not that often. I have always liked this model because of the design and the colors and I had one that was a few years newer than than one before I bought my Rainbow. I think that back in this time period this was when vacuums were at their best.

Sears Best

I have a few Sears cans & a couple of later catalogs.More information may help-Green?Blue?Cream/Orange?Woodgrain?Painted PowerMate wand?I have at least 1 extra -long electric hose(10 ft?) for the 5023 type.Good but not perfect.

The picture I have...

is a two tone blue on the motor with a white attachment caddy. I think the attachments will fit either ontop or under the hood. The power nozzle is blue with a wood grain finish with a white bumper. It looks like it has a really long hose and the wands are stainless steel. I got the picture out of a magazine.

I've been watching E-bay and when I find the right one that is a great deal and in great shape I'll grab one up.

Sears Best

It looks like I definately have long hose, atts & caddy(it can go on or under lid), probably have vac(not sure condition) & maybe have PowerMate. Will try to sort as I come near it.I just organised a shelf of Bennett Blue books. Was going to do a shelf of Sears catalogs soon and will try to find this model.

I'm not expecting anyone to give up any of their vacuums or sell any of their vacuums. Like I said I think I'll waite for a little longer if anything I'll just keep my eyes open on Ebay and if I find one I like I'll snatch it up. LOL

I have access to hose blanks

Hey everyone I have access to those old kenmore/ whirlpool hose blanks in 6ft and 10 ft lengths if anyone needs one.

I have many interesting old Kenmore straight hose canisters I that I cherish and very much enjoy using but sadly use only very occasionally for lack of good hoses. I don't want to use up the three really good hoses I have for them, and one is a unique hose with the on-off switch on it, because once the start to crack that's it. If bare hoses really are available please consider my plea.
