I tried a Miele today

Ryan,
It is not only the weight but look at the pictures I posted and you can see the difference in the diameter. The stainless wands just ruined the advantages designed into the Miele vacuum(light weight, easy to move and pick up). They felt heavy in your hand and along with the too short electric hose, you are forced to use them when dusting or using the sofa brush.
It was like the difference between using the old light weight wands from Hoover
Dusitng tools or Electrolux G compared to Filter Queen wands that were heavy chrome and cumberson to assemble. You expect them to be heavy on the Filter Queen but not on the light weight Miele.
The advanatage of better suction with the new wands makes no sense to me as my new Miele already has too much suction to be useful at the highest setting. It causes the power nozzle to stick along with the straight suction tool and dusting brush with it's short bristles.
I think there is a YouTube someone posted about the new Aerus machine having too much suction and it is not adjustable to make some cleaning jobs difficult.

Unlike Sebo's canisters though, don't all Miele vacs have the air outlet slider at the top of the handle? Surely with that adjusted on the highest suction, it would make a difference? Is the highest power always required? I don't find that with my own Miele vacs.

Ryan,
My Miele has 6 adjustments for suction levels. I have been ussing it on the 4th setting. It works so much better with the new wands.
The problem for me was that the Miele dealers had the demo machines set up with the gray wands and when I saw the stainless in the box I did not realize they would be that much bulkier to use. If the stainless had been on the demo machine,I would have not bought the Miele. It could also be just the density and style of my carpets although I did not like the stainless wands for other jobs.
