Next...I'm a picker. No shame here, it's just a hobby. I buy something I really like and then buy 2 or 3 more items that I can sell and, hopefully, pay for the one I like. In theory, it's great...in practice, it keeps me out of trouble and divorce court!
Today, I had some time and visited a real, true, old fashioned barn that will be having a sale this weekend. I took a chance and the guy was home. He was very pleasant and actually allowed me to take a look around. Lots of tools, sleds, horse collars, ox yolks and such...just what you'd expect to find in a barn that looks like it will fall down with the next stiff breeze.
However...back in the corner, I spotted an old hand-pump vacuum cleaner! I had one of these years ago and, sadly, I sold it. Perfect forest green paint and perfect graphics from the still complete decals. Wow! National Vacuum Cleaner from Lanning Stone Sales Co. of Philadelphia and Chicago. Two small dents and dusty but, otherwise perfect! I know what it is and its value...a great find! I was thrilled!
I look over to the left and there, sitting among what I thought was just junk? A "Regina Pneumatic Cleaner"...really!! The old wood mounted, hand-pump vacuum from "The Regina Company Rahway, N.J." OMG!!!
For $100 I bought BOTH vacuums, an incredible antique cast iron scale, an antique hotel check-in bell and an antique cast iron match stick holder!!
So...back to the Regina. It is NOT a "Model A"...it does NOT have wheels...it does NOT have the sticker that mentions the 1907 Kenney Patent. It just says "Patent Applied For" under the company name/locations!!!
Did I find something really special here??? Is this the original predecessor to the Model A??? Anyone have any idea at all about this incredible pick? I know I've already had an incredibly lucky day...somebody tell me it's even better than I thought!!
