We talked about this before in here at length. Since the early 2000's the aftermarket hoses have been steadily going downhill; chrome coming off the hose connect end, slightly different diameters in the hose end making it really hard to use regular accessories, hoses splitting/leaking in just a matter of a few yrs, swivel ends grinding instead of smooth etc, etc.
If you look at the vendors, the aftermarket hoses are mostly Asian and yet the prices vary wildly for the same hose model. I've decided to just troll eBay for original hoses that have 'Electrolux' printed on the handle.
Other than going to Aerus for $100+, I think this is your only worthwhile option. I agree that spending $100+ on a hose for a vintage vac is just insane, especially if you pick the entire vac and accessories up for $50 or less.....lol.
I bought a similar hose like the one pictured for my G with the collar. It was around $90 and it was aftermarket in the early 2000's. It has survived all these yrs....I got lucky. I about died at the price paid. I have two G's with accessories that I paid less for together!
