I was going to work on the cord winder on my Electrolux Olympia, and when I removed the handle I discovered that the switch was burnt and melted. I don't think this happened before I bought it. I haven't smelled anything electrical since I've had it, but I'm still concerned about. Should I stop using it for now? I'm having problems with the switch; it's very touchy. I have to slowly turn it on and sometimes it's hard to get it to stay on.

Here are a couple pictures.
