Not as bad as me night before last..

My spelling just packed up for some reason lol.

One more thing...

Rick, how do you keep that pick up truck so clean? And I thought I had high standards! :-)

Logan...

Getting that one lousy picture of that truck about killed me. It was off the road about 300 feet and I had to make four trips (uphill both ways)! Then try explaining to the owner what the hell I was doing----

Alan-What Kitty?

Michael-you bet! That Universal is getting the whole treatment. Rechroming, Rebuilding, Repainting. And yes it will be that color.

Mike, the original motor was replaced with a Lamb unit and will not be able to return to an original Universal motor. After I get it finished, I'll know how powerful it is. I almost don't care, it is such a unique design, I'll just look at it when it's done anyway.

Rick,

Enjoyed this thread and almost fell out of my chair laughing! Must have been a lot of work just setting up the pictures!! Is the older Lux a model XI? Looks better than the XII-A that I got last month. I know what you mean about the lack of suction on that one. The tag on my XII-A says the motor is only 350 watts, and I'm sure the XI isn't any higher.

The tag on the XI says it's 230 watts. The can is also smaller. I don't know how it compares to the V, but it's about 5 and 7/8" diameter. The XII is about 6 and 1/2" Chances are I will never own a model V, so when this one hit EBay, I just kept at it till I got it. I has no cord, no bag, but it does have the bag ring and filter. I'm going to have to research this model quite a bit before I tear into it.

Here's a picture of my XII

I didn't think to take too many pictures of it in it's before state. But this is the end product. I actually have all the tools for this minus the hose. I even have the Vaporizer. The Bakelite connector on the front of the machine was designed to except later (XXX and after) hoses.

Beautiful XII, Rick!!

I doubt if my XII-A will look anywhere near that good when I'm done with it, but I'll do the best I can. Scroll down to the thread "Latest Acquisition" and you'll see that I have my work cut out for me!! Only have two of the original tools but hope to get the rest eventually.
