This past Saturday I purchased 4 of my "dream vacs" from a collector (who wishes to remain anonymous) who was downsizing his collection. At this point you may be wondering, after my recent report of the situation at work, what I'm doing buying vacs at this time, so I'll offer a little explanation.
First, my son, who shares my collection with me, contributed substantially to the purchase, and the machines were only $20.00 each.
Second, this was planned before I knew the bottom was going to drop out at work.
Third, the other collector who accompanied me, as well as a couple others we picked up machines for, all contributed toward transportation expenses.
So my own outlay was affordable, and the trip was an excellent diversion from recent events. Having said that, on to the vacuums.
First, a group shot of the machines. Left to right, are a Westinghouse F1-46, a slightly used New Constelllation, Electro-Hygiene Model 950 tank, and a Hoover 63.

Electro-Hygiene 950 Tank

This was the fore-runner of the model 966 which I also have in my collection, and like the 966, is powerful and fairly quiet. It even has a jar of Hygiene health crystals with it. I have wanted one of these for a long time!

Hoover 63

This machine is all original, runs great, and has all the attachments. The seller said he has the hose, but needs to find it. I have wanted one of these ever since I started collecting!

Now, The Westinghouse

Even includes the attachments. Runs great, and has good suction with the hose as well. Another one that I have wanted for a longtime.

Close-up Of The Westinghouse

I believe this was one of the first post-war models, as there is a paper with it telling how to use the belt lifter that has a 1945 date on it.
Sorry, don't have pics of the new Connie yet. They are at the start of a roll of film that has to be finished before I can get it developed. But I will post them as soon as I can.

Congrats, Jeff...

You deserved a treat! That Westinghouse would be a catch by itself, but getting the tools is a real find. Wow! That Electro-Hygiene is beautiful. Happy Vacuuming! John L.

Thank You All For The Compliments!

And Chris, thank you for posting the ad! I enjoyed it! Yes, "VAC pot" is a good way to put it.
Rick, you're absolutely right, it was vac therapy at a time when I really needed it. With what's going on at work, I've been kind of down lately, but the trip itself, visiting with friends, and bringing home a few long wanted treasures was a real boost to my spirits! And your kind words have been a boost to my spirits as well!
Thanks again,
Jeff

Hi Jeff and Jeff Jr :-)

Hope you enjoy the toy's you got here yesterday. I was glad you wanted them. As you know, I really needed the room their going made for me. Since I am totally addicted to vacuum cleaner collecting, my apartment will always look like a warehouse I am certain. But cleaner I hope LOL. Anyhow, ENJOY !!!! Jim

Thanks Again, Jim!!

You bet we're enjoying them! Took the usual "garage door" pics as soon as we got them home and unloaded, and will post as soon as I get the roll finished and developed. Initiated the 903 by running it in the living room & dining room today, and Lena is checking out one of the 501's. Thanks again,
Jeff
