I have a GE Silentpower 3 that fills up but then just sits there with the water in the bottom of it
until I drain it by pressing reset. What could be the problem?

Check the central filter isn't clogged and also the salt dispenser - if there's excess water flowing out of it, it could require salt - and it has to be dishwasher salt, not table salt you'd normally eat!

Sometimes my Bosch does that and it just needs to be cleared of water.

Ryan,

This is an American dishwasher. It doesn't have a built-in water softener so it doesn't require salt. Sounds like the motor to me. They have separate recirculation and drain motors.

That happened

to my mother's dishwasher & she ended up having to get a new one. Her GE wasn't even 10 years old yet. She ended up getting a new Bosch one that is very quiet & does the cycle in record time. Energy smart too. The old one, the motor crapped out among other things & would have cost more to fix then replace so... Hope this was of some help. Mark
