Cordless "Hoovers" in commercial use?? The leaf blower may be alright but the vacs... Get a couple in box now as nest eggs, I see these meeting the same fate as the commercial use bagless Elite.

I already got the uprights in my store dead from a local good will that used them to clean the store. Hoover warranty replaced the machines for good will. The backpacks I’ve had shelves of dead ones for a few years now from moisture getting in the batteries from where the commercial places store them and killing the batteries. They’ve been making this like for a few years now though.

The bagless Elite had its own downfalls, notably awful filtration(I mean, BAD), as well as residential build quality in a commercial setting. But now they are never seen, and usually if they are, they haven't had much use. Hell that could apply to all commercial Elites.

Well if you look at it this way, there's more demand in the cordless market nowadays and in order for Hoover or TTI to remain successful, they needed to catch up with what consumers want to buy. Especially in the commercial industry. I've used both the upright and the backpack machines before. They work but not as well as the corded versions. I still would rather take the corded versions anyday.

If a vacuum is going to be used for commercial use, it has to be designed for commercial use. You can't just take a household vacuum and paint it jack-o-lantern colors and call it a commercial vac.

I am certain what will die the most on them is the fan, it's gonna get chewed up and broken before the batteries lose their stamina.

Also depending on how big the office is, most janitors will not appreciate carrying pockets or belts full of battery packs around to clean several floors with this thing.

@hoover300 there commercial lineups pretty decent. The backpack in particular is pretty rugged.

You have to remember TTI owns several power tool companies they have a good idea of what they're doing.

Yes that one Hoover is an Oreck XL21 with a big battery. But for the person who wants an upright why not?

I know of a lot of places near me that are hugely into the Tacony cordless uprights, so I think the Hoover/Oreck version would be a great cheaper alternative to those. For example, one of my local major airports near my house has a bunch of the Tacony models, and they are wonderful for getting the carpet under the chairs and what not. Plus, the build of the Hoover/Oreck uprights is actually decent for the price and the run times are perfectly practical. If I wanted a light cordless upright with a brush roll, it would be up there on my list for consideration. Unfortunately, I have no experience with the blower or backpack model yet. Someday I will get my hands on them.
