'Good Morning Mr Copp,

I have been asked to let you know that a Hoover Freedom vacuum cleaner has been ordered and will be delivered to you as soon as possible as a thank you for your help on 'The One Show.'

Regards.'

...and only 11 months after they first promised it to me!

'The Most Versatile Way To Clean - Everywhere. Powered by Airvolution for faster deep cleaning, Freedom features the quick release Explorer Lance and the Allergy Care Plus Package, a unique 4 Step process to remove and eradicate Allergens from your Home.'

'The new Airvolution technology from Hoover uses accelerated air power. This is achieved through a system made of Multiple Clusters. Each cluster is composed of 1 RISER and 2 V-CELLS. The uniqueness of Hoover Airvolution stands in its flexibility of combining clusters together, in many different sizes.'

ie. 'Here is the closest we can get to Dyson's Root Cyclone technology without infringing his patents!' ;)

Hoover claim 97% separation efficiency for the Airvolution system.

'The explorer lance and stretch hose are released in one simple motion from the front of the machine, instantly providing you with a 13m effective cleaning radius.'

When I was in North Canton for the convention last August, Mike King and I looked round Sears, and found this EXACT wand/hose design on the Kenmore Premalite...

And a parting shot. I must mention the sound of this thing....it's not quiet, but I wouldn't call it loud either. However, what I love about it is that unlike the more expensive Slalom, the Freedom seems to have a slow-start motor, which takes a few seconds to work up to full speed. It sounds like a jet-engine firing up!

Exploring with my Lance...

Sounds decidedly kinky - I nearly fell off my seat!

Anyway, the Hoovers seem to have gotten better test results this year from Which? Magazine, than in previous years (Hoover 'The One').

Which? even recommends the Hoover 'Slalom' as a reasonable budget cleaner; though carpet performance could be better.

Are the V-cells and risers really all different sizes? I just presumed that all 12 would be the same shape and size.

Not too shabby looking. That handle functioning is somewhat reminiscent of the Bosch/Siemens uprights iirc?
