After seeing Rob's New Black E 2 Rainbow, I had to have one also. I don't have the rainjet yet, but it should be here shortly.

I only took a couple of pictures and here is one. Rob's pictures were great and obviously mine looks the same.

Haven't had a chance to use it other that for a quick run. Will use it over the weekend.

Sincerely,

Bud Mattingly

Also, Rob williamr1248, could you pm me. I have a question about the lights in the basin.

Mine also arrived on the 7th.

I couldn't afford a new one, but I found a bargain on Craigs List. someone had to liquidate an estate and they were only asking $100 for it. Do you guys think the suction level is more noticeable than on previous E models?

I'm really impressed with the power nozzle. It seems aggressive when needed, but doesn't eat at my Kilim rugs the way the Miele/Wessel Werk nozzles do. I love this machine, but I was wondering about the HEPA Neutralizer. Mine was filthy and smelled like cigarettes and I thought the suction seeemed a little low. I followed the directions for cleaning it by rinsing with cold water. I got excited at first because I though I had a CleanStream filter or something like it. I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed and it still wouldn't come entirely clean. It looked like it was coated on the inside with cigarette tar or something. I finally bit the bullet and ordered a new one. I guess water and paper still don't mix. You all probably won't need to worry about this for some time since you bought new machines. What really impressed me was that the inside housing and exhaust outlet that connect to the filter were spotless! All the gunk was in the filter and nowhere else.

You never know what you'll get with a used machine and it sure is strange how some parts survive and some parts go missing. I was surprised that mine had the RainJet with it. Interesting idea. It's kind of like a Swiffer Wet Jet with vacuum pickup.I didn't even know thing had an electric pump in it to squirt out solution. I played with it yesterday and the squeegee picked up every last bit on my Saltillo tile, which is hard to do because it's rather bumpy and has thick grout. Isn't there supposed to be some kind of scrub brush attachment? All I have is the sponge.

I'm eager to try the AquaMate now. What's your impression of it? Does it work like a true extractor, or do you inject the liquid first and then suck it out of the carpet?

What I like the most is that now I can give my whole house an aromatherapy treatment like I used to with my SE. I like to use real essential oils in the water because I don't know exactly what's in the Rainbow brand of fragrances or whether or not they're all natural. Try setting the machine next to the intake of your central A/C with some Lavender oil before going to bed. It's very relaxing.

That new powernozzle looks like it has a really cool edge brush, by any chance does it spin ( edge brush ) it looks like it could, I like the look of the new powernozzle.

The old rainbow power nozzle( rectangular ones )  motors were an outsourced part, they were the same motors as those found on twin motor LG uprights and a variety of other twin motor machines.

Well, Dan if they do make everything in house it shows because the quality the accessories and parts strikes me as being very good. There's a big difference between "fit all" tools and the ones that rainbow makes. Theirs seem to make more efficient use of the airflow. I noticed this when I used my Rainbow with the Axis floor brush from MD systems. It worked ok, but the airflow and dirt pickup seem better with the genuine Rainbow floorbrush.

GSheen:
Yes, the side brushes do spin. I think it's a clever design. I do like the fact the bristles are stiffer and longer than in the power nozzle for with my SE. There's a guy on Youtube who's been rather critical about the Rainbow in comparing it to a Rotho machine. I take it all with a grain of salt. One of his complaints about the power nozzle was that side brushes took up too much space along the edges. So what? every brush roll has side bearings and those take up space on either side of of the brushroll too. I think it's very clever-and it works well too!

I think its a brilliant idea, I have a huge commercial sweeper that I use to keep the paved area's in our garden tidy, it has the side spinning brush and I have ofetn wondered why vacuums don't have these.

AS for Utube well If you take any of the" lets compare clips"  on there as serious then , well lets just say not to bright in my opinion.

We get it every day in my shop " but the guy on utube says its not as good as this one" I have a laptop in my showrrom so I can point out the many mischivious things that people do on utube, like comparing their machine to a competitor but blanking out the brush roll view so you can't see if the brush is spinning or not. If stuff on Utube were true then Myth Busters would be out of a job.

Or my personal favourite , the guy on Utube who sells Miele says this machine is not a good machine. MMM did you go to BMW to find out if they thought your Audi was a good car before you bought one?  NO !

I am not a grea fan of water filtration But a hyla over a rainbow really , I am not been rude Just wanting to understand your decision, we get the Hyla under a different name here. I get so many in for repair in my shop It drives me nuts, they are sold thru one of those tv infomercial's adds  and in stores here,  We send about 10  a week to the recycling plant.

Sorry again Im not been rude , just puzzled

My

Decision ? Well i own a Rainbow E series and have used a E2. And first off with power nozzel .. Does a fair job on grooming and pick it is ok. Unless its sand or any grit. It doesnt get much air at the nozzel so when i wanna pick up something it kicks it out. Wessel work its the best ive ever used. 2nd that basin is hard to clean out. The Hyla looks easier to clean out . And no Hepa filter to get all nasty . I dont see the reason, just more cost. I know it for things that cant get filtered by the water. And i hate loud vacuums. And the E2 is too loud. Not bashing . Just would take it over a Rainbow

Personally

I think the Hyla GST's look good. But I hear that they are OLD Rexair technology. I question that because of Hyla's self-cleaning separator. Rexair never had self-cleaning separator technology, so how is Hyla using Rexair's old technology? It seems I remember someone stating the the Hyla's separator does get dirty, even though it's self cleaning. I do not know. A fellow member on here has the latest Rainbow & Latest Hyla GST, and says the Rainbow is more user friendly, but I'd still like to have a Hyla!

At any rate, Josh, the Rainbow is not loud. At least mine isn't. Mine is insulated so perhaps yours isn't??....And..... if used correctly, the hepa shouldn't get dirty for a L O N G time unless someone is a smoker in the home then I'm sure the smoke would go right into the hepa and that couldn't be avoided, since I don't think the smoke will go into the water. I don't smoke nor do I have a fireplace.

I tried one too

Josh,

You might want to try the new Rainbow and the Hyla side by side. Like Dan, I have both and there is no comparison in several areas:
(1) ease of use
(2) build quality
(3) suction
(4) power nozzle

The Hyla is a good machine but the added water makes if heavier to pull around and empty and there is just no comparison in the power nozzles. The new Rainbow power nozzle is much easier to use and much less damaging to the carpets. The found the Wessel Work design to be way too aggresive on my carpets and smaller rugs. The superior air flow on the Rainbow power nozzle is very noticable on the bare floors too and much easier to use on small rugs because of the trigger switch and suction relief right under your thumb.
You will like the new longer Rainbow electric hose, dolly and quick connect wands.

Well

My mind is made up .im i think i will be going with a Hyla . I just personal i dont like the E2 at all. Sorry. If i wanted a rainbow i wouldnt pay full price not worth it . In my book they are worth about 600 new .not the asking price. .
