My mother found this at an estate sale. It really needs some cleaning, and the removal of some VERY light surface rust. But It's complete, just sans the Polishaire and whatever else It may be missing..

Thanks for looking..and some hist...

Mom found this for me at an Estate Sale in East Lansing Mi, last weekend. She told me that they were asking 50.00 for it. After some haggling, she got it knocked down to $25.00. It came with most everything. There is no PolishAire, or spray gun ( although I've never seen one with a Compact before), and it has a fairly old and NOS bag, and the manual.

It's going into the SPA with me tomorrow for the full treatment..( I.e my work)

She also told me that the couple that owned this machine were professors at MSU. Both of them were very repected and had doctorates. which means they had money , and could afford this type of machine. For all the years I lived there I only ever saw one other Compact and it was the red two speed model with the Roto-Matic Powerhead.....

chad tell them about the other thing your mom saw but didn't pick up...you know the thing you said you could have killed her for..lol

That is nice. The ones I always find are usually missing everything and the vac body scraped and scarfed so badly you have to wonder what the heck happened to to it. There is one sitting at a local thrift/flea place here in not too too bad a condition body wise, the hose is ratty and it only has the wands and floor tool, maybe I should go get it? Now looking at your pics there I might have the blue brush and crevice tool in my box of odds and sods.

Finding the Compact....

As Kyle stated there was a Hoover Pixie there that had all of it's tools, and original bag in as good of condition as the Compact. I wasn't going to of course kill her, just a tad bummed out about it. There were a few other vacuums there also but they were either spoken for or gone....

But the Compact wasn't...and I love it. I never thought of me as a Compact owner, but after sending it in for it's beauty treatment, and it's subsequent renewal I fell very much in love with the color and the design....

Hence my initial heading of "proud" Compact owner...

Chad
