I am kinda thinking of a Brand New Vacuum.

If I were to change my mind and get a new vacuum...

It would be a hard call to make. I have had my Rainbow since 1998 and I love it and there is nothing wrong with it. I'm in no way a collector, I don't have the room and looking at the collections that I have seen this would be a very costly hobby. My vacuum collection is the following, my Rainbow D4C, Hoover Floor Mate, and my Bissell Spot Bot. All three I use and all three serve a purpose.

I have been looking for a while thinking about a new vacuum and the thing is nothing on the market really catches my eye, except for the Electrolux Aerus. I think that I like more the older vacuums that are no longer on the market and if I decide to go a head and buy a new one it would maybe be something I find off Ebay. Who knows.

I too,USED to be a Lux Guardian owner-The thing was clunky-just looked "cheap" to me and NOISEY-was like running a B-52 engine in your living room. The salesman simply said-"You can get used to the noise-the motor is more powerful,so it is noiser than our other models"and the filter on top of the canister kept popping off.Traded it in toward a MEILE-so much better-more powereful, easier to use, better made,QUIETER,better filtration.Honestly "Lux should ditch the Guardian design and go back to their roots.the older metal body machines with quieter motors.Kirby is my favorite-but use a canister instead of the Kirby hose.Right now I am putting my Rainbow E2B thru its paces.always been a fan for Kirbys,Rainbow,TriStars as DTD vacs. Now Meile and Sebo are other favorites.

Do you own a Commemorative Edition Ultralux?  If you do, Im very jealous, there arent many out there.  If I could find one I would buy it in a heart beat!  One of my most favorite Electrolux tanks, aside from the Commemorative Edition, is the metal UltraLux Classic, the blue body with the beige and chrome trim is in my opinion one of the very best looking Electrolux tanks made, certainly the best 1521 body style right behind the brown Marquis :)    I remember being a young kid going into the Lux dealer and staring at the large poster they had on the wall of the UltraLux Classic (this was shortly after they stopped making them), and aside from its beauty its an iconic machine being the last metal bodied canister Electrolux ever made.
