WHO LET THE HOOVERS OUT?!?!?!?

Ok, I take in one little turquoise Hoover QuikBroom, and an elderly 300 couple. And an old 800.

Now their grown kids are moving in...

There I was, minding my own business, going to get an area rug from a Craigslist seller.

On the way home, I picked up a couple of hitchikers. One Hoover, one Eureka.

The Hoover claims to be a relative of the others. I asked the QuickBroom, the 300's, and the 800 that live here about him...but they didn't say a word. He says his name is Model 64 Citation. Whatever. Another nozzle to feed.

I do love that model 64 Citation! They're somewhat of a rarity because it was only produced for 1956/57. It was the crossover machine from the Hoover "Old Look" to the Convertible line. It was also the first upright with the red Hoover logo. How is the condition of the vinyl bag?

And YES, Hoover, being among America's best, WILL get under your padding. I love the 29/62/63/64 series. Dems are REAL Hoovers!

OH MY! Uhmm...weird...and...wow!

Okay, when I first tested the Hoover, the attachment receiver was inserted, so no suction was getting to the nozzle. I figured out how to release it. Very clever! I like the way it restricts airflow to the fan area, versus clipping underneath the nozzle.

Ok, you see the tight-loop pile carpeting in the pic? And some of the white stuff? No, I did not slip cutting a line, that's spilled laundry powder. And I haven't vacuumed the kitchen in a few days.

I did not install the carpeting in the kitchen, it came with the apartment. I hate carpeted kitchens.

Anyway, I switched on the Hoover...indeed, is does lift the carpet. As the Hoover approached the laundry detergent, I guess it was happy to see it -- because 4" in front of the machine, it jumped up and started dancing.

Uhmm....peering down closer, I saw other stuff jumping up and dancing. I wear no-line bifocals, so I thought at first it was the shift in my lens strength playing tricks on me, as it can do from time to time. Looked closer -- indeed, that is what was happening.

Now that's just friggin' bizarre! This isn't a vacuum, this is a mechanical thug!

And Karl, the vinyl bag is in great shape. Could use an ever so light cleaning in some spots, but no tears, rips, or such flaws.

That's one beautiful Citation, and I know the Eureka will be when you're finished with it. And you have a 300 and an 800? They're both fine vacuums as well. Enjoy!

Holy crap!

I stumbled on this thread by accident! I know the original poster is gone but the Eureka featured here is a Standard #2. I thought I had the only one, good to see another is out there somewhere! It uses a larger style motor like the models 10 and 11, but has a caster, ridges in the nozzle base, and the strange wheel setup. Also, it uses a handle identical to a model G.
