Rob - good to hear that this innovative pn design actually does the job well!

I guess my only concern is the large gap in the centre - but I guess that path is cleaned when you move over the nozzle on a subsequent stroke.....

The space in the middle does not show when you use the return stroke. I guess we had that same type of gap on a lot of Hoovers and Eurekas for years too. Before I used it I was expecting to see "holiday areas" on the ends and middle but not so in actual use. I would guess the design of the air channels lets the air flow accross the surface. I am sure they did a lot of testing before making all the changes.
I have enjoyed many of the new Dyson designs too.
