Brad, there are only three bolts holding the halves together, no more and no less - no clips, tabs or adhesives. The halves join together dry in channels of the rubber bumper surround.
One bolt is at center front below the bag door latch and the other two reside inside the wheel wells of the rear wheels. You have to knock out the drift pin that serves as an axle to get at those bolts. Then simply pull the halves apart.
Compact and Tristar shells are cast in magnesium. It is very lightweight but also brittle. All 3 bolts must be removed before attempting to separate the halves or you run the risk of cracking the shell or bolt mount posts.
For reassembly. it is best to knock the axle pins outward from the belly and observe which end has the knurled edge - usually the inner end. Which should be the last section of the pin to be knocked home. The knurl locks the pin in the holes so it will not work loose in future.
Pin are replaced in reverse fashion, pressing and hammering them flush with a hammer and cloth bushing pad to avoid marring the paint.
The picture shows the bolt locations as yellow dots.
