Hi!
I’ve been working on this Hoover elite and I can’t figure out how to rebuild the motor. I managed to get the fan off but I can’t find a point of entry. Any advice? Also, I believe these motors use sleeve bearings. What should I oil them with? Would 3 in 1 oil work?
Thanks

In order to access that front bearing you'll need to drill the rivets and remove that metal plate. you're going to want to drill from the back (inside) you really just need to remove the lip that's holding the plate from there the rest of it should slide out the front. Do keep in mind the rivet will heat up as you drill through it, if it gets too hot you risk deforming the plastic surrounding it. If you think it's getting too hot give it a break. You will need to either have new rivets for re-installation or you could use some nuts and bolts with a threadlock.
