Re: Replies #2, #7
Hi,
#2: Unless you have already done the research or have documnetation did you know that the Grand Marquise and the Legacy looked identical? The serial id (2 letters with 5 digits in between), which is stamped on the stabilizer is the only way, besides documentation or the original carton, to know for sure. It seems the most common affixes of the two cleaners were M_H for the Grand Marquise and M_L for the Legacy. If the affixes are different than those Aerus LLC may be able to tell you which cleaner you have by supplying them with the serial id. Its records are not always complete, though.
Incidentally, after the Legacy the Model 1521s' names were indicated on the top (as the early- to mid- Diamond Js had been). The late Diamond Js (sand/jade) and Marquises (taupe/sand) could easily be identified by their unique colors unlike the Grand Marquises and Legacys.
#7: Electrolux USA used rocker switches on its deluxe models beginning with the Model AE in 1956 and ending with the Model 1505/Silverado in 1985. That particular style was used through the tan Model G until 1968. The budget models of that era (E, T, S, R, L, and 1453) were equipped with toggle or slider switches; and the Canadian Lexan-bodied models, which were introduced in the USA in January 1985, had single push-button switches (the same mechanically as the classic Model XXX's albeit in a different form).
The early- to mid- 1205s were ribbed like their predecessors but narrower (based on my observations) in size while those of the late 1205s and 1205/Jubilees through the Model 1505/Silverados were the same form but contained a shock hazard warning.
All the Model 1521s--including the Diamond Jubilee (1984-87), Marquise (1987-88), Grand Marquise (1988-89), Legacy (1989-90), Ultralux (1990-91), Ultralux LX (1991-92), Ultralux CE (1993), and Ultralux Classic (1992-94)--had the 2 push-button-style of power switch.
