Hi, I went to the Kirby Tour last week and while there, they explained how to tell where and when a Kirby G series machine was made just by looking at the serial number. I can't seem to remember that code. Can someone please share with us all how to decode the serial number. I seem to remember the first number was the plant it was built at. I think the Cleveland factory was 1 and the Texas factory was 2. I just looked at the serial numbers of my 2 G series Kirby's and neither one begin with a 1 or a 2 so I'm stumped. Maybe Kirby changed the code on the serial number for the Sentria.

Thanks,

Chad Cunningham

Yes, please. I remember that much too Chad. My G3 ends in 1 but starts with a 5. So I was wondering if that was for the
current Sentria's?

I remember what you guys remember...sort of....1 was one factory, 3 was another, and 11 was another. I thought 11 meant Cleveland, but I am not sure now. Perhaps someone can take up the offer given by one of the guys at the rebuild location who welcomed questions anytime.
