Hi all,

I picked up an upright Eureka "The Boss" the other day at the thrift shop. It looks like a typical F&G soft bag Eureka. The business end of it is all black with no headlamp, and it has a diagonal striations across the top of the hood. Sort of hidden in the striations is the power button. The bag is confetti like, black and burgandy against an off white background. The bumper is off white.

This surely looks like it must have been made near the end of the soft bag run of the Eureka's? The motor is 5 amp.

Any Eureka experts?

Guy

Late 90's i think

I bought one for my Grandmother because it was easier to push. Also easier to handle than her Eureka 80's RotoMatic canister w/PN. It must work well because i always have to change the bag when i visit and i visit pretty often. I just love the hum of those older Eureka Dial A Naps. As i call them for a lack of a better name.

Hey Guy,

I bought the same Eureka Boss back in January 1999. I can remember Service Merchandise started carrying it around 1991 or 1992. Does you boss model have a cloth outer bag or a vinyl outer bag? Mine was cloth but I think the original models had a vinyl outer bag. I might be wrong though.

A machine that fits that description is still made as Model 1934, although there have been others. Post your model and serial number, and I'll be able to tell you how old it is.
