More than its worth. It needs a new handle, handle sticker, new belt lifter, nozzle trim, headlight trim, power switch, cord, bag, bag top, emptor tray, wheels and whatever else might be incorrect that we dont see.

Thats easily $125 in parts alone. You can find a complete machine in original condition, with some or most attachments for that price or less.

Hi Jayson

From the photo it looks like the people who have it probably bought it reconditioned from a vacuum shop. When many of the older models would be reconditioned trim parts are available in all sorts of colors so a lot of vacuum repair shops would trim them out in more modern colors. In this case it just looks like they trimmed it out in the blue used for Kirby Traditions. If you make friends with someone who owns a vacuum shop it probably wouldn't be hard to come up with the trim in original colors. If you want to invest the time into it then I say GO FOR IT! Kirby's are always worth something and in my opinion it's worth your time and money to invest in it. If you decided to go for it, post photos once you get it done, I would be interested to see it.

PS

Jayson, if you look up the number for the Vacuum Cleaner Exchange in Belleville, IL and speak with the owner: Bruce, I know he'd be able to come up with the correct trim pieces for you and the handle label. He probably wouldn't charge you all the much and I doubt it would cost too much to have it shipped to California. It would probably be worth your time to check into. In fact, next time I'm in there, he'll probably send me to round up all the pieces you'd need. LOL.

It's a pass

As Brandon W_T said i'd be easily $125 in parts just to make it right. I'd rather spend that or less on a beat up one and then spend the money to make it right.

Juniorsenior and bojacked

To answer your question bojacked bassiclly means that a machine has been fitted with the wrong parts in order to get it to be sellable. I've come across several Kirby's that were/are like this. Some parts you can find, others you can't.

Just remember, Kirby are discontinuing a lot of the coloured parts in favour of basic black parts, so you won't even be able to buy proper D80 green parts before long annoyingly... :&#92

Easier just to stick with it's re-trimmed look, just think of it as a Mini-Tradition... :)
