i saved this Electrolux model F that I used in 05' through 08' at music venue. When the venue shut down and we moved out, I forgot the vacuum. Last year I snuck into the empty building. The roof had collapsed and vandals had trashed the rest. I went back to the supply closet and the Electrolux was still there. I grabbed it and brought it home. After sitting the the storage room for months, I got brave and proceeded to fix it up. I removed all the rust, sealed it, painted, polished, and found a rebuilt motor on line that fit like a glove. Along with an aftermarket 15' hose, it is amazing at cleaning the hardwood floors between the pews and cleaning the glitter/cookie crumbs in the pew cushions.

Your Model F looks great! Your photos remind me of what I did a few years ago with a Model R. Same idea, different model!

This was inspired by an actual church in Virginia where my father was the pastor in the mid-1960s. There was a big closet in the vestibule just like you see here where the old lady who cleaned the church (named Fanny Godsey) kept the church's Model R.

Well, the church where I was music director from 1989 to 2008 also had a closet in the vestibule where the custodian also kept their vacuum cleaner! However, it was an old Royal upright (the one with the hammertone blue motor housing).

I got the crazy idea one night when I was going down there to practice the organ for Sunday to bring the Model R down there and "stage it" for a photo session. :)

@tolivac the kids have cookies and crackers but don't ask me about the glitter.

@electrolux137 that R looks sweet! The organ tuners have also used the long hose of mine to do cleaning in the cramped swell division of the pipe organ here. The only problem we have cleaning out sanctuary carpet is the fact it's a thick plush wool carpet. We've tried numerous brands which each wearing out.. Currently using a Hoover guardsmen professional and changing its belt every two weeks.

My church only has communion wafers.
I would suggest cookies for better attendance, but they already have seven masses. Two on Saturday night, and five on Sunday morning. So I doubt they would buy into that theory.

Our church is cleaned by a variety of vacuums. Saturday morning a "committee" of volunteers shows up with their home vacuums and each takes a section. The cleaning is done in about an hour with a good roster of volunteers. I think the moping and waxing of the vestibule must be done by the school janitor as I don't recall the volunteers ever being asked to do more than sweep that area.

I gave my church a Dirt Devil Featherlight

I don't clean my church, but few years ago when I was serving on the vestry, the altar guild was asking for funds to purchase a lightweight upright vacuum with onboard attachments to give the chancel area a quick sweep on Saturdays when preparing for Sunday services. I had recently grabbed a baby blue Dirt Devil Featherlight from beside the dumpster at my apartment, which had gotten tossed out because it needed a bag and a belt and the owner apparently didn't know how to use a screwdriver, go figure. I had replaced those items, given it a thorough cleaning and even found replacements for a couple of missing attachments. It was a nice little machine but I really didn't need it since I'd also rescued my Kirby G6 at that point. The vestry was quite happy to accept my donation and save the cost of purchasing a new machine. They've gotten several years of use out of the thing and it's still going strong. It's not the greatest vacuum in the world, but it's okay for what it is and it serves their purposes.

I used to use my parents' Electrolux Super J for vacing the church I used to go to; but at that time I had that awful short electrified white woven vinyl hose with gold & blue tracers & polished aluminum PN4
