How good are Miele vacuums?

For non-electrified hoses, doesn't Miele sell an extension hose that can add about 3 more feet to the main hose?

When I was shopping around for a new canister vac for non-carpet cleaning, I was down to choosing between the new Miele Olympus and the Electrolux UltraSilencer Green. Though both had very good ratings for everything but carpet cleaning in Consumer Reports, I went with the Electrolux because it indeed comes with a longer 7 foot hose, and a longer cord.

It's an extender up to 5 ft, but

They do have a longer, 10 ft Miele hose non electric. I have it and it is nice for those high ceilings and hard to reach areas. I have had it for a year or so, it came with different hose ends to fit the various current models. Central vacuum stores has  it under hoses. I don't remember if I got it there or somewhere else...
