I am currently restoring a Bissell Powerforce that I brought off of Facebook marketplace. The machine was nasty since the previous owner didn’t install a bag, so I decided to wash all of the parts instead of just wiping them. I think we can all agree that people don’t know how to properly install a bag these days. What’s even worse is finding a machine that has a cheap knockoff bag that was installed in the machine.
Since I’m selling this vacuum, I decided to go even further by servicing the motor. Unfortunately, I am having a hard time seeing how this fan cover is supposed to come off. A lot of other models (like the 82H1), has a spot to put a flat head screwdriver. My motor doesn’t have any spots to pry off the fan cover. I know these machines aren’t worth that much, but I don’t plan on putting this vacuum in my collection since I’m not that big of a fan of this design. If anyone knows how to get this fan cover off, please let me know.
I’m also restoring a Hoover Elite commercial that I got for free off of Kijiji. I regret taking that machine apart on my carpet since it was definitely used in a commercial environment. If you want to buy the Elite commercial after it’s fully serviced, just let me know.
