This is my 4 year old PN brush roll. I have taken it apart to clean it about once a month, last week it smelled like it was buring and I noticed there was alot of "wiggle" room at the end of the brushroll. I finaly got around to taking it apart today and I thought Id share how chep it is made. Another thing that sux is you can't get the end cap and bearing, you have to buy the whole brush at 50 bucks with shipping 40 on the Bay.
Now the vac was cheap and is 4 y/o but I only use that vac about once a week as I work practicly 24/7 now and I usually grab an upright for a quick sweep b4 bed. So this unit hasnt seen alot of use like my last kenmore whispertone that lasted 6 years of heavy use with your usual min. maintaince.
Just thought Id share how cheap things are, not that you guys dont already know lol.

Same thing happened to mine

Yes it seems Kenmore power nozzles have a problem with brush roles failing at the bearings.I have seen a lot with this problem. the earlier whisper belts used a sleeve bearing that held up just fine,I suppose sears wants to save a few cents on production cost but the consumer always pay's.
