Hi everyone, just curious to see how people display their collection. Did you build platforms/shelves, hang from a wall, line up by age or manufacturer, or maybe your favorite vacs have their own grouping? Do you have the accessories or marketing displays included too? I’ve seem a few different displays on here but thought it would be fun and maybe helpful to see how others have their’s arranged.

Looking forward to seeing photos of all different displays/collections!

Randomly jammed in...

That's a very impressive collection. I don't really have mine displayed in any sort of formal way. most of them are just kind of jammed in wherever I can find space and some of them are just plain in the way. I try to use that issue to dissuade myself from getting any more machines. Sometimes that works for me and sometimes it doesn't. Until recently, I've had several machines hidden away in my barn (not really a barn in the agricultural sense but an enclosed storage building) under the pretense that I didn't have room for them in the house or that they needed cleaning and polishing before bringing them up. Within the past year, I've cleared most of those out, giving one to a friend and donating three others to my church's rummage sale. Only one remains down there, along with several Kirby tool kits and an assortment of random parts. A part of me wishes I could say the same for the house. Ironically, since I cleared out the surplus machines from the barn, I've replaced them with an equal number, all of which are in the house and increasingly in the way. I really need to start a triage process to decide which vacuums are part of the permanent collection, which I'd like to keep for now to work on and play with and which are candidates for liquidation.

Karl

You have some very rare machines in your nice collection. I'm very impressed. The last time I talked to you, your dad wouldn't let you buy a Bison from me. Did you ever get one?

My Bison

Yes! I did manage to find a Bison for my collection. It's sitting back in a corner in the second picture. I have a Centurion, which unfortunately blends in with the darkness.

It all depends

They are all over. When I have minimeets (haven't in a while), I'll put out certain one/ For instance, I'll line that 'staircase with a nice 'array. I'm currently working on the "gallery" a.k.a. "The cats' apartment". There will be tons out on display throughout the house during The V.C.C.C. convention in Scranton next year. Lots to do.

I have mine just thrown in a spare room in the basement and then they expanded outward of that room and are just scattered all over the basement, the garage, my entertainment room, and my sleeping room.

Eventually they will be evicted from the spare room because I have bigger plans for it, and they will live in the garage when it becomes a workshop. But as far as dedicated space specifically to display vacuums, I don;t have it. Wish I did :(

A big long building like Dysonman1 has for his museum would be perfect to display vacuums in rows with little photos from ads of them right with the vacuum and a little history subject and all that.

Awesome collection and display Opelgtkarl, a whole room dedicated to vacs! I really like the advertising too!

VacMadMan, sorry if I created a second thread of collections. I didn’t know there was a separate collections page. I found it today but the link didn’t work.

Gottahaveahoove, I’m sure the steps look cool lined in vacs with particular ones showcased. Also there’s a vacuum convention in Scranton PA? I’m in the NJ suburbs of Philadelphia.

Huskyvacs, I’m right there with you. I don’t have too many in my collection but they are tucked away in different places throughout the basement. Only one on display in the living room. Once I get my new house I hope to make a designated display for them. Just need this darn real estate market to get better.
