Hoover's New Handy-Dandy Corporate Name

Guess what the geniuses at TTI have come up with for a corporate name for their Hoover North America Division?

Healthy Gain Investments, Inc.

Nifty, huh? Kind makes you want to go out and buy a Hoover to help make their investments healthy, doesn't it?

I now think they really need to dump the Hoover name altogether and just label all their vacs HGI, in plain black and white Helvetica letters. That has such a nice (snoooorrrreee) ring to it, huh?

Did some execs at TTI sit down for a meeting and say 'You know what Hoover's been missing for the last 100 years? A stupid corporate name!'

'Healthy Gain' sounds like something you'd wish a friend at Chinese New Year...

Hoover's New Corporate Name

I think a more appropriate name would be "Fook-Yoo America Trading Company." The whole thing is a disgrace. Eureka built a much nicer machine for their anniversary a few years ago with the model 1950 RetroVac, than TTI did last year with the Windtunnel and so-called "Convertible" which was just a rebadged Saavy.

If I were to hit power-ball

Id try and buy it and come back with the good old vacs Connie, Slim,Portable mabe even a power nozze option :~)even the spirit was a decent vac unless you had bad allergies lol.(anothe pipe-dream lol) but I would if I could. Would anyone but us buy them ya think?

I love your idea, i would love to do that if I hit the Powerball too. first order of business is bring back the Convertibles and DAM's, both just slightly uptaded to keep current but still of all metal construction.

What is it ...

...with modern day corporations' mania for rebranding?

One hundred years spent building up a brand name that is short, sweet, easily recognisable on buildings and appliances, and some stupid bastards wants to change it for long-winded irrelevant crap! TTI deserves to sink without trace for being so bloody stupid!

They did that with the UK's 'Royal Mail' - changed it to 'Consignia'. Nobody knew what it meant, so they changed it back again.

'British Steel' became 'Corus', 'BT Cellnet' became 'O2', and recently, UKTV satellite television channels have been rebranded - apparently by a bunch of immature clots.

It REALLY pisses me off.
