@gsheen

i had the uk version of the bluey grey windtunnel in your picture under the maytag label, it was one of the very best vacuums i have used in my house, it got really really noisey so as i had it on my warranty plan from domestic and genral it went off to be repaired,with the understanding that if they couldnt fix it was to be sent back to me. it went off to a company call Service 2000, a week after it was take away i got a call telling me it needed a new motor but they couldnt get the parts anymore, i asked them when they were sending it back to me, they told me it had gone in the rubbish the day before and the rubbish guys had been that morning and taken the crap including my windtunnel. i went totally apeshit at them but to no avail,domestic and general offered me a hoover hurricane in replacement i told them where they could stick that idea in the end they offered me the new tol hoover turbopower bagless begrudgingly i accepted i had the turbopower less than a week and gave it to a friend as it was crap.
im gutted i lost i my windtunnel i didnt even get a picture of it, ive been desperatly trying to hunt another on down for the last couple of years but no success, even tried to get onbe from the states but no one seems to be bothered to ship one they just go on about voltage, i have a transformer (robots in disguise )
so my message to all windtunnel owners im so envious look after your machines they will last for many years

My Hoover Windtunnel Plus S3639 canister above has turbine tool stored onboard along with the Hoover Windtunnel TurboPower 7500 S3649 canister and Hoover Windtunnel Preferrred S3641 that Lowe's carried. TurboPower 7500 is shown below.

As far as bagged uprights, I'd have to look into that, excellent question. I know bagless Wintunnels did. But the Windtunnel Supreme tool lid has stayed the same over the years only housing dusting brush, crevice tool and upholstery nozzle. Some display units in stores used to show turbo tool stored in one of the extension wands.

Hoover had a lot of decent looking machines. The original Windtunnel Canister S3630 was an awesome green. Below is the best image I could quickly google of it. It doesn't compare at all to seeing this first hand on a display shelf or in your home!!!

When I move to my North Carolina home in 2016, I might consider getting an early 2000's model Windtunnel upright.

I have 4 Windtunnels I have a green 2004 Baggless twin chamber. A 1997 Mach 3.8 it's maroon just like that one above. I have a 2006 grey self propelled. A maroon Cyclonic +. They are very good machines.
