Hoover Windtunnel twin chamber

Hello everyone, I have a Hoover windtinnel twin chamber that I got from beside the road, that won't turn on, I had done a clean-out and search for a reset button on the vacuum and I can't seem to find anything. The only problem that is see is a small cut on the cord. But sometimes when I turn it on the moter comes on for a secant and the dirty indicate light comes on. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The bagless machines are crap coming out of our asses. The bagged machines tend to last longer.

Is it one of models with the power switch on the handle? Those are actually an extension of a plastic rod that mechanically flips a rocker switch right below where the handle is screwed in. Overtime the rod can become slightly bent and lose ability to fully flip the power switch.

Your machine might have that problem. It can still move the switch, but maybe only a quarter or half way; not enough to bring the switch fully into the on position. That may be why it will come on for a second and power off. I've had this issue before on one of mine.

There should be two long screws on the back on the handle, and attached nuts in the front behind the dust cup. Once you pull out the handle assembly, the rocker switch will be there on the body. If you flip it and it comes on, then the plastic rod is your problem.

The cut on the cord doesn't look that deep, but definitely much some electrical tape around it. I hope I was able to help!

I'd check the cut out closely too, you still might have a wire severed in there.

I have a bagged Windtunnel a friend just claimed dibs on that I picked up about 2 weeks ago. Seriously looks like new, one of the cleanest machines I've ever found by the curb. I hate to see it leave.

It just needed a belt.
