Hoover Windtunnel Cyclonic

Recently bought a Hoover Windtunnel Cyclonic, amazing the dirt and grit that this machine pickups. The Dyson did not pick up this this machine.

Now Now...i'd say those machines are pretty good. All Bagless vacuums are not pecies of crap! the mach 3 machines arent half bad. good lookin machine there.

Those have THE worst emissions EVER!! And the b-rolls melt all the time, in my opinion that makes a pretty bad vacuum, don't you agree?? Thought so!

The reason why Hoovers (more recent models, that is) pick up more dirt is becasue the brushes are slightly longer than other vacuums. Hoover figured this trick out a while back now. Consequently, because the brushes are longer they can cause berber carpet to melt when using the machine for above the floor cleaning unless that is, the brush roll can be turned off. In another brand of vaccum, this may not occur because the brushes are not EXTRA long, thus not picking up the same amount of dirt INITIALLY!

I just think that even though they dont have good performance they shouldnt beconsiderd pecies of junk. There are some bad bagless vacs out there like the dysons and Dirt Devils. That windtunnel looks like a interesting machine. Its like the Orecks even if they are junk, there still fun to use.

You are 100% correct. I do not like many of the newer vacuums on the market, but that doesn't make them JUNK. It simply means that I don't like them.

I have friends who swear by their Bissel, Dirt Devils, Regina's ect. While I don't like them, they seem to. We all have difference's in collecting, how we collect, what we collect, brands we collect, but what is important is that we consider all vacuums (good or bad) as a part of the history of our hobby.

There have been many brands go under, like the Byson, Cadilac and I am sure there are many more, but each of them has added something worthwhile to the overall performance of many vacuums.

Duane's Ida Lee that he brought to the St. Louis convention was one of the most interesting vacuums I have ever seen, I can not tell you if it was a great cleaner, but the over design concept had my complete attention.

Now, now....

Let's not go bashing the Oreck. While it may not be your favorite brand of vacuum cleaner, and many feel their performance leaves alot to be desired, for the average household it is not a bad vacuum cleaner. Say what you will about the Oreck, each vacuum has a 10 year housing guarantee against breakage or burnout, and they're still made here in America (for the time being at least). What I like about them above all else is the simplicity of the design. If you can't service an Oreck, you have no business being in the vacuum cleaner trade. Just my two cents....

I just received for my birthday a new Oreck XL21 complete with the canister.

Overall, I think it is a great vacuum. My sister has one and if it can survive her, it can survive anything. They may not be a great deep cleaner, but they most certainly groom the carpet well. Consumer Reports did rate them better than the Dyson even in deep cleaning. For someone like myself, who has area rugs for the most part, the combination of the upright and canister work great. Of course, when I want to know that things are really clean, I get out my Royal, Air-Way or Miele.

Repairing them is so much fun. A total of 8 screws and you can take them completely apart. I have put my share of them straight into the dishwasher...looks like new when the come out. I have never been brave enough to place the motor in the DW, but I do know some members here have.

The new Hepa Bag they offer seems to be of great quality and the bad docking system seems to work well.

David Oreck is very good at what he does, ADVERTISING, APPEARANCE, along with offering an American made product, a descent warranty, and using TV as much as possible.

Just my thoughts.

Glad to hear your input about the XL-21 Morgan. That's a nice birthday gift to receive! For those who have not yet tried this model, I urge them to do so, being it is a radical departure in terms of power from the rest of the Oreck lineup. It draws a half an amp less current then the classic line, yet churns out 33% more suction. I love showing customers how it literally goes by itself across the carpet.
I'm not so sure I would try placing the motor in the dishwasher, but what I've done with my XL-21 is interchange parts (like I use the older style bag dock so it will accommodate bojack paper bags). I think there are even bojack roller brushes for the XL-21 on eBay. And yes, Mr. Oreck is a marketing genius!

I like one specific oreck

My all time favorite oreck is the dual motor commercial oreck! those are good vacuums my local Elementary school has one. Fun to use and quiet to unlike the other uprights.
