A few weeks ago I was browsing the Hoover US website and had noticed that they dropped the bagless Windtunnel Self Propelled from their lineup. As the worry wort that I am I started to wonder about the other original Windtunnels. I eventually got over it and now tonight I was on their site again and noticed they also dropped the standard Anniversary Windtunnel and now the original Windtunnel Bagless. Now I know that the bagless system in the Windtunnel is now somewhat out of date with the cyclonic bagless models, but that was one of the only pre-TTI machines left. Plus I will miss that awesome blue and silver color from the anniversary model. They still sell a silver standard Windtunnel called the Supreme. I just hope they don't drop this Windtunnel and the Self-Propelled one.

The Twin-Chamber bagless system used on those two models was absolutely disgusting. The HEPA filter clogged quickly and was a pain to clean and empty. I've heard worse about the 90s Eureka system however. The bagless Windtunnels I've used do clean a tad better than the current T-Series style machines, but cyclonic filtration is a must in a bagless vacuum. Consumers have come to expect it. The bagged Supreme is a great vacuum at a great price. They must be selling well, as it has remained in production since the late 1990s.

Hoover recently discontinued the Elite as well. The original Steamvac is highly rated and continues to be sold in multiple variations. We still have some of the pre-TTI Hoover.

@bagintheback

True true. I forgot about the Steam-Vac. I do agree that the filter system in the bagless Windtunnels was pretty horrid. It's just a lot of these vacuums I remember from my childhood and I hate to see them go. I am a worrier and I doubt the Windtunnel Supreme will go but, that's a worrier for ya.

I do however like some of the TTI Hoovers though. I bought a Hoover Windtunnel Air Steerable and it's a really great vacuum. I would upload some pic's but still am can't get them off my phone.
