Hoover vacuum cleaner bag packages, 1985-1990

On Genuine Hoover dust bag packages manufactured between 1985 and 1990, I've noticed that, on the back, there appears to be some sort of diagram in which the cleaner appears in dark blue, while the bag appears in light blue. Any thoughts on what the purpose of that might be?

An example appears below, from the Hoover Type A bag package.

Probably because people more easily associate a visual aid to what's sitting in their closet, opposed to the specific name/model of the cleaner or the "Type A" designation.

Electrolux did similar. This might be mid 90s though

I've wondered about that too. The machines the bag fits are shown on the front, but on the back they have another picture with the bag showing in the machine(s).

On Type J bags, it shows a Hoover Slimline with its cover open and the bag inside.

And the new Hoover bag packages show no vacuums at all. Bah!

I wish they'd bring that back. So much easier than knowing type 48 and the new codes they've created!! Plus I like seeing all the various cleaners on the packaging.
