Hoover Vacuum Accessories Compatibility

I have a Constellation Model 86 and it only came with the hose and the connected elbow. I've been looking at a lot of accessories for other Hoover models and although they look almost the same, I'm afraid to pull the trigger and find out they're ever so slightly different sizes or what have you. How much compatibility is there between models?

My recollection is that Hoover attachments from that era were interchangeable.

Find a parts list for your model and see if these are on other models' parts lists. I just bought a new grip for a Futura cannister off eBay. The listing said it fit several Hoovers, but made no mention of the Futura. But the part number was a match so I bought with confidence that it will fit.

Hoover made the same attachments for many years that were used with the Constellation, Portable, and Slimline models, with the only difference being color. They were made in white, beige, light brown, and dark brown. Often the rug nozzle matched the cleaner, but the rest of the tools would be white. The same cleaning tools were also used for the Convertibles and Dialamatics.
