Thanks for scanning this so quickly, Seamus! A few observations:
1) I notice the Senior seems to have the later style bag, but with the old font. Damn, another version to look out for!
2) What on earth is holding up the Hooverette? It seems to be supporting itself!
3) I want those slippers in the photo of the 417G hehehe!

Ive decided I NEED White Shag pile..... Dont know what the landlord would think tho!
Someone should have pointed out to Conquest woman she really needed an upright......

Oh almost forgot....
I have no idea on the Hooverette- maybe Gerry Anderson had a part in that- you just cant see the strings lol!!!!

If you look closely the handle hook for hanging it up is straight up - I suspect a piece of fishing line is tied to it- lol

I would imagine you are correct- for anyone that didnt get the Gerry Anderson reference just think Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet etc!

Hi Seamus, lovely collection of classic hoovers!!!wow those carpets as well BMK Acrylon Rustic Rouge!!!hows that for a memory...LOL and White Loop Shag!!!
The first time I saw a Convertable (DAM) was through a letter box whilst delivering newspapers, I only saw the back of it with the full toolset attached, I thought it was a new breed of vac...which to us it was...
The conquest floor tool, did first models come with the word hoover across the front?? or was that for photo purposes!!
Why is the Hooverette standing:: am I missing something?? it seems to be perfectly adequate leaning against the chair, dont you mean the carpet sweeper!!! now that does fall over and cant stay up

I was disappointed.....
That whilst the Conquest section mentions Blue Serge there is no reference to the dirty great elephant made of said material.....

Hello Seamus, I now recall seeing a colour photo @ 1970 of a 'trendy gal' up a ladder vacing a huge toy style of material elephant, using the turbo tool of course !
The caption went something like this: 'The Hoover Conquest....powerful enough to clean a blue serge elephant !!'
I think a friend of mine might have one ?
How I used to drool over the hoover display at the electricity board showrooms in Glasgow as a boy.
NEIGHBOUR TO MY MOTHER AND ME AT BUS STOP: "IS MUMMY TAKING YOU TO SEE THE TRAIN SETS AND ACTION MEN ?"
