Hi!

I was wondering what you could tell me about my favorite vacuum, my Hoover u7075. It has a serial number of 0005933. I'd love to see vintage ads/literature for it

Also, can you tell me what civilian Convertible it's based on?

Also, which 1950s/60s vacuums are still available in commercial versions? (I'd love to know which Sanitaire models correspond to vintage Eureka models.)

The classic "Tradition" line of fan-first Sanitaire uprights has pretty much the identical motor hood as the famous Eureka Vanguard from 1970. That's the oldest design still available from Sanitaire. These Sanitaires can even use Eureka's famous F & G top-fill bag which made it's debut in the early 1960's.

Thanks!/Bags?

Thanks! I kinda thought that :D It's good to know that the F and G bags have been around that long. Out of curiosity, what's the longest-running paper bag?

Bags

In about the 50s Eureka had a style F and a style G (One for cloth zipper bags, one for vinyl)that were combined to F & G somewhat like modern Hoover Z/Y.AirWay bags were about 1920,Electrolux self sealing in 1952,then more and more tank and upright bags in 40s,50s as people disliked emptying dry dust after cleaning. And now thanks to Mr Dyson we have the latest and greatest newest technology of emtying dry dust out of a bucket AND finding, cleaning and buying expensive filters!
