I noticed on Jacks video for the Turbopower 1000 someone had asked about the Permabag.
Well if that person is a member here then here is the low down on the Permabag for you.

Some pictures to show what it was all about.

Interesting permabag. What is the purpose of those two long spikes attached to lid and what is the material for the "bag" inside the cage,, is it a thick cloth like material?

You took the words out of my mouth, Pete.

I wonder what the benefit of this Permabag is over a regular ole cloth bag? Perhaps the Permabag shed collected dirt easier than cloth? Looks like the card collar on the bag locks onto the machine?

The Permalon which is the grey part looking like fabric is a very stiff kind of sheet. It feels a bit like plasticised/waxed cardboard however it is porous. Water does penetrate it so when washing it does have to dry really well but it washes very well.

Airflow and suction does seem to be compromised compared to when using a bag but its not greatly reduced. Still a decent suck on it.

The rods to my imagination seem to hold onto fluff and fibres and aid in removing them easily. I would imagine without them you would be scraping around inside with long spoons to empty it fully.

I think they were designed to stop the fluff compacting and allow fine dust and grit to fall to the bottom.

However thats just my thoughts and they could be for something else.
