Had the immense pleasure of picking this beauty up yesterday after the previous owner had stored it away for her sister for years and it only had been taken out the box to appear in a photo for ebay!

Still has the 2 empty brande new bags that it left the factory with and all original literature and sealed air freshener.

This model was one of 2 sold at the time, U1294 which was sold without the tool kit as normal to othet Turbopowers, the toolkit was an optional extra bought if you required them.

This U1296 comes with tools as standard, quite why they did we cant really define an exact answer but a multitude of maybe's.

I imagine at that point Hoover knew money could be made on this style of vac as it was still popular amongst budget buyers and those who wanted something light and simple but sales of optional tool kits dwindled due to those with the money who wanted tools went for models with built in tools.

By adding the optional tools as a feature and charging a slightly less overall price than buying the 2 together would help total sales and provide an added value product to the customer.

Styled in Ramsey Slate and Deep Ramsey Slate, 440w.

Myself assembling it properly for the first time,

Manufactured August 1989

very cool

Just like the Innovation across the pond. How lucky you are Robert to have aquired such a time piece. I love the line-up.

I like the royal warrant on this...gives it an extra veneer of respectability (not of course that it didn't have any in the first place).

air path

It looks like the air path is very near the center rather than being offset to the side. Good design!

Innovation?

Hi Kenmore81.

The TurboPower is the same as the short lived US Sovereign model.

The Innovation was the larger sibling to this model, the UK equi8valent being the turbomaster, the machine on the far right of Pauls line up photo.

Hope this is of help!

Happy hoovering.

Clark.
