We also have a soft bag design Innovation. The on right in Paul's picture was the more common mode Innovation here,or at least in my neck of the wood lol. But even the soft bag model we had,the bag was on the front Like your Turbomaster. The bottom of the Turbo Power Plus is what I was refering to when I said it looked like our Innovation. Sorry for the confusion lol. I dont remeber the US Sovereign model. It must have been really short lived.
Either way I love the line-up.

Vibrageoomer, The air path is off to the side, I think the misleading dirt tube is what you are seeing in the middle just below the handle.

The 'Turbo' range was such a deviation for Hoover in the early 80's !!

Sorry guys, yes the Tool Converter pan is missing in this shoot - the seller forgot to include it but has since contacted me and will send it on.

Suction is not that great but markably better than the Senior/Convertible's power, yet it does amuse me that back in the day I used to see so many people clean their cars which IIRC took most folk bloody ages to do lol.

I remember one neighbour who had the 1st series blue Autoflex along with 2 moulting pooches regularly using the vac to clean out their Ford then homing in with the duck taped hands to remove the dog hairs from the back seats.

Ironically though I do think the agitator style was Hoovers best, personal opinion I know but comparing grit removal between test periods where I use a cylinder cleaner alone for a few weeks between switching beater bars and the notched agi's the Activator comes out best.

The bellows you can see dont relate to where the dirt is channelled.
on the photo of the underneath the dirt passes thru the channel to the far right of the brushroll. Up the channel and left into the fan casing where it then proceeds central into the bellows and up the fill tube into the bag.

Will have a look for a photo where we have the cover off to show you underneath.
