I got one of the Hoover TaskVac Cordless Commercial stick vacs and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. This is the first new vacuum I've bought in 5 or 6 years and the only thing with a dirt cup I own other than a Hoover Quik-Broom from the '80s. I really like the TaskVac because it has a brush roll. Does anyone else have one of these?

It's basically a newer version of the old Hoover cordless Platinum Linx Stick Vac. The Linx is very highly rated by Consumer Reports - not as good as the Dyson stick vac, but half the price....

It is basically the same thing as a Linx, the only difference is this one is rated for commercial use. Really the only thing I dislike is the battery life is only about 15 minutes.

It did seem to me after about 2 years their run time was dropping, just from my view.Machine cleaned well for what it was, would clamp to the area rugs. mom loves it, can't push a vacuum anymore

Having 2 batteries really makes a difference! Much more convienient now. I'm still loving this vacuum, it's not as good as a full size but it's great for what it is. I also put a Hoover scent tablet in the area under the foam filter so now it smells great when in use.

I tried the Vax Life as we know it in the UK. I can't say that its better than the Cordless Air. Infact the Life/Linx was probably great when it first came out but I was a bit disappointed to find that the Life/Linx doesn't turn that much of an angle to left or right. The dust bin also lacks a handle in the UK. I like the colour Hoover have added here, though.

In the UK we also have a Cordless air stick vacuum, which is a slimmer version of the Cordless Air. It has a similar limiting left and right turning swivel.
