SHUT UP!

Okay. This is a wonderful community. However, different people have different opinions and all this person asked for was advice and opinions. We don't need to trash on other people just to make ourselves feel better. Different people like different brands and that's that. This is coming from a fourteen year old by the way. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

PLEASE, NO FIGHTING! Let's all be fair & nice to each other; one person's vacuum may or may not be right for another person. It all depends on the home environment (types of carpet/bare floors, pets, kids, etc) & how much dirt is there, indvidual's preference of canister, upright, or built-in, or allergies.

That's why I sell VARIOUS brands of vacuums & shampooers instead of selling & repairing just one particular brand.

i did a over haul on my All-Terrain but i don't know why it leaks i replace all the hoses and got a new caddy and new spin scrub and a new nozzle and the black rubber ring broke with three uses of doing my steps wash and towel dry every thing i can then air dry but as long as it works ill keep using it

I have generally been a believer in the philosophy that if a company keeps a product/design on the market for a considerable amount of time, it has probably proven itself worthy-stood the test of time. One of the exceptions to that is Bissell's cleanview-powerforce line, and their powersteamer upright carpet cleaners. On the other hand, Hoover has been using basically the same carpet cleaner platform since the early-mid 90's, so it clearly must be reliable and working for them and consumers.
Now seeing Bissell's current history (2000-now) of not having a clue as to how to make a reliable carpet cleaner, I would not be suprised if they didn't learn much in recreating the Rug Doctor. So I wouldn't trust it to be as good as what it mirrors. Also, from what I've read, the Rug Doctor is a good cleaner but is a lug and time consuming because you can only clean in one direction. But I don't know if that is still the case.
I always try to recomend going back to the days where vacuums and carpet cleaners where "beasts that got the job done". If you can get your hands on a Kenmore cleaning system with the powerbrush, that's the best carpet cleaner you could ever ask for. A Bissell Big Green powerbrush would be next on my list. However, I'm sure many people know those 2 machines are a lucky charm to come by!
