Hoover SteamVac F5895-900 hose replacement

I've got a Hoover F5895-900 SteamVac and the hose has broken. I'd like to replace the hose, however, I see no easy way to remove the broken portion of the hose that's stuck in the vacuum (see image). I haven't found any rough guides on how to perform this fix so any help/input would be great.
