Just finished steam cleaning my living room carpet. Used my Hoover Steam Vac (mod f-5915) and thought I'd ask what you think of it.

I love it. Am always amazed at how dirty the return water is. Like it for cleaning my furniture and car too.

Have the same model in both NY and Florida.

With two cats and a dog in NY, the carpet gets done 4-5 times a year. It was so dirty today and had some pet stains on it despite the fact that I always clean "accidents" immediately and thoroughly.

Does a fantastic job on the berber in Florida. The townhouse is 8 years old and was in foreclosure when we bought it. Neighbors are amazed that we still have the original carpet and it looks so good.

I use a good quality cleaning solution, very hot water and fortify it with ammonia.

Thought I'd ask for the opinion of others on this..........

Thanks for your input!

I have one too. They pay for themselves after a few uses. The water returns so dirty. I never tried to repeat the procees to see if any more dirt comes up. I have also mixed a little Oxy-Clean with the solution. I had an older model and I would see stains come up a few days after cleaning. This was because there was an air leak in the hose and the machine wasn't sucking up all the moisture from the rug. I had to replace the entire hose but then I ended up buying another machine because it was on sale real cheap. What I liked about the older machine was that all you had to do to was lift the dirt bucket from the handle. On the new one you have to pull two levers out in order to release the bucket. On the other hand, the new machine has a separate soap compartment rather than mixing it up when filling. This way, if there is leftover soap in the tank, all you need to do is add hot water to the large tank. Enjoy! Jeff.

All I know about them is they're sold as the Vax Oasis V-133 here, and used to be sold as the Hoover Brush 'n' Wash, wouldn't mind trying one, but, can't justify the cost...
