hiya everyone, it has been a long time since i last posted but i am back again, and this time with a faulty hoover senior 6525E. The problem with the hoover is that when the motor starts up/winds down the suction fan creates a horrible scraping noise. I have took the motor hood off and the top bearing hasn't seized but it is going rusty and i was wondering weather this could be the cause or a contributing factor. i think the 6525E senior is a great machine and i am currently in the process of restoring this one so it would be much appreciated. i have also had a toggle with the fan and it does move up and down in the machine slightly and i was wondering weather this was also a sign of a worn top bearing. like i said before, any help or tips or advice from people who know more than me would be much appreciated. i have attached a picture and thanks for taking a look.
