Hoover Secondary Color Names Mid '60s to Mid '70s

Hi,

The first photo below is from former Vacuumland contributor "hoover 1060" of his gold Hoover cleaners. The second photo shows the model 1011 tool set. The third shows several colors of part # 43463012 (floor tool elbows), which I included as another color comparison.

I'd like to know what the two secondary color names of the first photo were (seal greige & taupe?), and if each was used for tool sets from the mid '60s to mid '70s.

Really? No one on Vacuumland knows?

Well, after some further research I discovered that Hoover USA named the colors Seal Greige Deep and Seal Greige Medium.

The Dial-A-Matic 1120 is at least one of the cleaners whose original tool set option was the Seal Greige Deep color (model 1121).

I have the SG Medium tools and am looking for the matching hose.

I always thought that Hoover brown looked just like delicious chocolate! Would it not be fun if someone could come up with a box of chocolates shaped like Hoover tools???

I'm not huge into Hoover USA, but some contributors have been kind enough to post some of the cleaner brochures, which are quite detailed. So using Hesco's model list I found some of the color names.

Vacuumland has an awesome search engine in which you can look up model numbers, model names, brands, and other data; so I encourage you to use it to fill in the blanks below Unfortunately, though, I found little on Spirit specs, so maybe someone like John Long has the brochures and would be willing to share them.

Really? I'd love to see a picture!!!! The first pic in this thread looks like Hoover used milk chocolate for some models and dark chocolate for others.

I have always thought the Dial-A-Matic U5015 looked like butterscotch even though Hoover's technical name is "Persian Gold."

I don't doubt that vacuum inspired food has made it's rounds.

Cupcakes, sheet cakes, cookies, ....even an a dial-a-matic shaped beef roast. lol

I guess canisters would be easier to make into cookies than uprights! I can easily imagine those round Sunbeams from the 60's and the flatter Celebrities from the 1970's turned into big cookies. And all the Electrolux cylinders into little cookie sticks/lady fingers and Eureka Sweet Sixteens into colourful cake squares! Would definitely require long licorice strings as hoses baked into the front ends!!!!!
