Tommy...These are great looking machines. I like this color combination too. I do know that it came in lots of other colors too. What year does this one date? I would still like to find the US version from 1954 the Holiday 415. Thanks for the pictures.

I guessing late 70s/early 80s- this design had a very long run in the UK/Europe!.

Is it a UK or French built version?- any chance you can post the serial number, it should be possible to date it from that

Hi, it was mad by Hoover Ltd, Great Britain, serial number :
42771004277 I'm almost sure it was purchased in 1978, it belonged to my friend's mother.
Also if you look at the topic "1978 hoover brochure" you can see it; It was available in white/yellow and white/orange, as well as the Constellation in that period. Both the Classic 427 and the Cnstellation 867, have been sold in italy til 1983 but, what a shame, they didn't have the original set of white tools and alluminium wands but the same cream tools as the last Freedom (forza 1000 in italy)series, i was horrible because colors didn't match at all. the last Constellation had the red lever switch replaced by an anonimous white switch.The end of an era.

Going on the serial number
It was made in October 1977 so it was quite probably brought in 78.
Im pretty sure this model was exclusive to the CO-OP by this time in the UK.
Nice find, and its great to know the history of it as well
