I bought this on Craigslist for 45 dollars. A bit much but I love Hoover Concepts so I had to get a Powermax. The automatic hose suction door was broken but epoxy fixed that. After lubing up the pivot points for the brushroll housing the broken lifter for the power drive assembly isn't much of hindrance anymore. I don't like the plastic brushroll they were replaced with. I'll most likely switch it out with the old steel core quadraflex.

That's a nice looking Powermax, and has the chrome wands. I remember seeing a Hoover Concept II in that color at an estate sale. I really liked how it looked and had never seen one before or since.

Yes, excellent Powermax you have there! I'd love to find a Powermax myself, but they seem elusive.

Any shots of the plastic-body brush roll? I'd be curious to see what that looks like--I've seen only the steel-body brush rolls in Concepts before.

The brush roll is basically the same as in the Hoover powerdrive which is what replaced these powermax machines.

Great vacuums. There were only 4 or 5 models produced. Black, blue, green, maroon, dark turquoise and maybe one other.
