Hi all; I have been looking into concept/powermax/drive brushrolls, and I found a parts site that claims to have double brush concept rollers for $36. I'm assuming original because I have not heard of any aftermarket company making those. When I looked up the powerdrive/max brushroll, the only thing offered is the concept roller. Now that leads me to ask 3 questions.
1. What is your opinion on the concept 2 row brush vs. the powerdrive molded brush?
2. Wouldn't it be assumable that the newer brushroll is more readily available?
3. Is anyone aware of any company making generic brushrolls for these machines?
On an aside to #3, I would assume that since parts for the concepts-powerdrives have been discontinued for some time, some brilliant individual(s) by now would have created generic parts, as there is for almost any other Hoover out there. Is there some patent pending, etc. stopping generic vacuum part manufacturers from making parts for these vacs?
On an additional aside; I have been told/heard somewhere that if you remove one bearing cap and bearing assembly from a convertible roller and slap on the belt/bearing section from a concept that roller will fit in a concept and will just have a useless belt section in the middle. I have never even bothered to look further into this, but just thought I'd put it out there.
